I started up WordPress a few years ago in 2017 after deciding to take up blogging. Ever since then, I’ve tested, developed and managed my website from the ground up. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been able to easily manage my website thanks to the amazing service 20i provides – see my guide on how to set up a WordPress through 20i.

Below I have featured the main reasons why I use WordPress for my websites. Of course, these are my own subjective opinions so if you’ve got any further points, please feel free to mention them in the comments below.
Customisable
Since website development isn’t my strong suit, WordPress is a great option. Not only does WordPress have an easy-to-use interface, but it also has a wide range of drag and drops features and plugins. It not only makes piecing a website together easy, but it also gives you loads of customisation options. As of version 5.9, WordPress has added a lot more options which expands the possibilities you can accomplish.
With all that in mind, WordPress is the easiest platform you can use to set up a website. There are plenty of other features, such as re-useable blocks which help you save time from having to write the same paragraphs or features to a page or blog post. Due to the block editor too, writing blog posts is even quicker through the easy-to-use blocks.
Affordable
WordPress remains an affordable website choice when considering the other expensive options on the market. Through 20i I only pay £6 per year to run the domain due to my current needs. Flexible
Even if you want to develop your own website, WordPress enables lots of flexibility in terms of what you can do. There is a wide array of plugins to select from to enhance the user experience. If you want to be even more technical, WordPress enables you to create and upload your own plugins and themes, allowing you to build a website from scratch if you wish. Through these features, WordPress ticks the box for anyone from beginner to professional, especially if you’re accustomed to website development and PHP.
Conclusion
Overall, WordPress is the best option for anyone looking to create a blog, website shop or just a generic portfolio page. No matter what idea you have, WordPress enables you to build the perfect website to suit your specific website needs. With that in mind, there are many other options out there if WordPress isn’t for you, tools, such as Squarespace and Wix are great examples of low-code website builders but do come with a higher price point.
