My Car Won’t Start!
Note: you need to be a RAC customer with a breakdown cover.
Don’t you love it when you hop into the car in the morning just to find out it’s flat? While it isn’t ideal, having a breakdown cover can be handy for getting you back up on the road. I’ve been a driver for over 6 years and have experienced car issues from time to time, especially when it comes to batteries.
Fortunately, as a Motability customer, I get access to the RAC breakdown cover under the scheme which has been a lifesaver on countless occasions when I experienced car issues.
Since my breakdown callout, the RAC required me to call the breakdown number, however, recently they introduce an online form where you can report your faults. I recently found this option through an automated message while attempting to call the RAC. I needed the car later that day after work to attend my weekly powerchair football training session with Nottinghamshire Powerchair Football Club.
Reporting the Breakdown Is Easy
Using the form was simple and reported the specific car issues I had been having. I found it cut out a step from reporting a breakdown as the engineer called me within minutes of filling out the form, to tell me that they were on their way.
I would recommend this option as it’s much quicker to report your vehicle breakdown. The form had a variety of options to choose from which made describing the issue a lot easier and where the car was parked. However, if you’re not good with websites or forms, calling the RAC up is just as easy and they will be able to sort out your issue promptly.
FuelService App
Another type of service app aimed at helping disabled people is the FuelService app which allows disabled drivers to quickly fuel up their vehicles by requesting help from a staff member through the use of a mobile app. Much like the RAC breakdown form, it has an easy-to-use form to get the assistance you need. It also allows you to independently stay mobile on the road without embarrassment.
Fast Repair
On arrival, they were quickly able to get my car back up and running. All you need to prepare is for yourself to go outside (especially in this cold weather) and your keys to hand over. As I was at home at the time, I sent out a family member to pass over the keys to the engineer and they started to diagnose and solve the issue.
The issue was solved promptly and all the repairs were done conveniently on my drive. Eventually, they were able to start my car back up and it was time to get back on the roads! Thanks to the RAC’s quick callout and repair, I was able to attend my weekly training session and had no further issues from that point onwards.
Back on the Road!
Overall, the RAC is a great service if you choose to get your car under the Motability scheme. Calling up due to a breakdown is quick, and easy to use and the engineers are very efficient at fixing any issues you have had. I would highly recommend using RAC for your breakdown cover even if you aren’t on Motability.
Thanks, everyone and I hope you all have a great day. I would love to hear your views on this great service down in the comments! Alternatively, you can email me at “info@dynamicdouble.co.uk” if you would like to share your views or thoughts.
